There's a Prairie Wind
(c) Dominique Millette, 2007 R/ There’s a Prairie wind Blowing through my hair As I’m walking down the road And I’m leaving everything behind Everything Everything Everything behind. 1. May the living skies watch over me As the sun glints on the dew They stretch out as far as I can see Over fields of gold and blue Oh, the harvest will be starting soon I can see the ploughs of old Shining softly underneath the moon With their stories left untold… R/ 2. There's a river here that bears you name And a bird that sings our song They're so far from what we both became Living fast and going wrong I can smell the prairie grass tonight And the hay rolled in the field In this gentle breeze so sweet and light I know that I can be healed… R/ |
